Math Quiz: NYT Learning Network

newspaperThrough Math for America, I am part of an on-going collaboration with the New York Times Learning Network.  My latest contribution, a Test Yourself quiz-question, can be found here:

This problem was based on an article discussing weak and strong passwords, a subject near and dear to any cryptographer’s heart.

I looked through your older tests you made for the New York Times. One of them was filled with comments by the test-takers complaining about not knowing how to calculate ERA, amongst claims that the test was unfair unless you are a diehard sports fan. I’m merely bringing this to your attention because I found it hilarious.
