This question has to do with the disproportionate number of 5-star ratings found on online review sites like Amazon.com. How does this affect the overall average product rating?

There are 90 problems here, all of which were “Problems of the Week.”
Along with some classics like The Counterfeit Coin, The Game Show, and Letters and Envelopes, there are some really interesting and creative problems like finding the moment of inertia of a fractal and measuring the time between simultaneous claps. Solutions to the problems are all available on the website, as well.
This is “Starburst”, by Tim Locke, on display at the 2012 Bridges Math and Art Conference at Towson University.
Locke uses design technology (like CAD software), and manufacturing technology (like laser-cut metal printing) to turn his line drawings into 3D sculptures.

I’m kind of torn by these detergent prices at Target.
On the one hand, I do like to celebrate consistent pricing. I find the consistent unit price of $3.84 for each type and size of detergent very satisfying.
But on the other hand, isn’t a fundamental principle of sales that the more you buy, the better deal you should get?
