Math Photo: Ceiling Curves

As my Mom recovered from knee surgery, we passed some time by looking for math in her hospital room.  She pointed out these tracks on the ceiling that allow the curtains to run along curvy paths.  It put me in mind of an exponential function, or something with a directrix.
