Math Photo: Tall Triangle

It wasn’t easy catching this image while driving over the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, but it turned out well!

Another scene from ever-under-development Brooklyn.

While on the beach one day, I found a triangular rock. So I started on some beach relief.

Then I iterated.

And I iterated again.

And I continued to iterate, until the whole beach was one big Sierpinski Triangle!

The sun’s projection of one set of axes looks like a translation of another set.

While playing around with some light and shadows, I caught another quadrilaterals on my carpet:

I also blocked the light in such a way that it turned this trapezoid into a parallelogram.
