Women in Math — Biographies

Published by patrick honner on

This is a nice collection of links to profiles and biographies of women in mathematics.

In addition to resources about historical figures, this list contains references to many living mathematicians.

And here is another nice collection of biographies of female mathematicians from the University of St. Andrews.

There is a book titled Women in Mathematics (Osen 1974) with some ten most prominent woman mathematicians in history with their life stories naturally explained more thoroughly than in the bios via 1st link you provide, quite a nice read.

P.S. Your 2nd link is not right. 🙂

Thanks for the comment. I have added the book “Women in Mathematics” to my summer reading list–looks good!

And the 2nd link looks ok to me; I just used the same picture on a different resources.
